about me
Hi there and welcome to my blog! I’m Samantha Caldwell and the creator of “A Little Rainey”. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, among the towering evergreen trees and rain(e)y weather and I wouldn’t trade it for anywhere else.
Growing up in such a scenic area of the world, I have always been drawn to the outdoors. During college, I started hiking more and exploring what my backyard has to offer. I began taking photography more seriously and posting my adventures on social media. Nothing brings me more joy than being outside with a camera in hand.
Whether shooting photos for my own memories, or working with a brand, I am passionate about capturing candid, lifestyle and inspirational moments that make you want to jump in the photo and join the adventure.
I’m so happy you’re here and I hope that you find some inspiration to go somewhere you’ve never been, but always dreamed of visiting.

Tolmie Peak Lookout is a heavily-trafficked 7 mile round trip hike in the northwest region of Mount Rainier National Park. In late July-early August, the meadows are exploding with wildflowers, the lakes are warm enough to swim in and the sun sets late into the evening. If this hike isn’t on your bucket list already, you need to add it!
The Ancient Lakes are a cluster of lakes located outside Quincy, Washington. This area is popular for hikers, backpackers, trail runners and mountain bikers year-round. This hike is a great option for early-season backpacking!
